This page is a community page from the family Viljoen/South Africa and Jens Marschner/Germany.
Both families are united together in long friendship and love to the Rhodesian Ridgeback.
We breed for hobby and our passion is to use old south african bloodlines such as the ones of
the boerhound from past days.
Fascinated from mythos of the Rhodesian Ridgeback who is always present since the bred is known and fascinated from the old stories which have made the bred so legendary we became enslaved by that bred and are determined to preserve its features like courage, resolution and its
skill for tracking and hunting and to be a good family dog too.
All our dogs got imported from South Africa. They have outstanding pedigrees which bloodlines can be tracked till 1900.
In the pedigrees one can spot very old and famous bloodlines on which we set great store and of whom we are proud of. Sometimes you may see us on shows somewhere in Europa on which our dogs get mostly excellent judgement. But not all judges are convinced from this old type.
I consider it may be unknown to them as it´s rare. But for breeders and lovers of this breed they are very special and get admired and faced by fascinated looks.
They seem to enter the show ring a little bit prouder and more vivacious than others.
Yes indeed african dogs are different you can hear from people who are standing around. We admit we have the same thought and that´s the cause they are so special for us. You hardly can describe you must experience for your own.
